The Legend of Selene and the Dragon
MOON–MARS

In a distant land, where the stars shone so brightly that one could read by their light, there lived a beautiful maiden named Selene. She was the guardian of the Lunar Spring — a sacred pool whose waters brought peace and tranquillity to all who touched them.
One morning at dawn, as Selene was filling her cups with pure water from the Spring, the sky above her darkened. From the clouds emerged a mighty dragon named Mars, his body covered in fiery scales and his eyes blazing with rage. He had flown from distant lands ruled by war and conflict, and he longed to conquer Selene’s peaceful valley.
“Your waters are too calm,” the dragon roared. “I will teach you true strength!”
But Selene was not afraid. She raised a cup of water, and it began to glow with a soft silver light. “Strength is not always found in rage and anger,” she replied. “Sometimes it lies in the ability to remain calm in the midst of a storm.”
The dragon, accustomed to battles and conflict, was puzzled. He tried to frighten Selene, but each time his fiery breath drew near, she raised the cup, and the flames turned into sparks dancing in the air.
Days gave way to nights, and gradually Mars began to notice how his anger subsided in Selene’s presence. He watched as she cared for the people of the valley, calmed storms with a single touch, and turned conflict into an opportunity for growth.
“You have taught me,” the dragon said one day. “Strength is not in destroying, but in directing energy into the right course.”
From that time on, Mars and Selene ruled the valley together. The dragon taught its people to be decisive and courageous, while Selene taught them to preserve inner balance and wisdom. Their union created a remarkable equilibrium: when it was time to act, they acted; when it was time to wait, they waited.
So it is in human life: when the Moon, symbol of emotion and intuition, meets Mars, symbol of action and will, a special kind of strength is born. It is like gentle water that can both soothe and become an unstoppable current. People with this aspect in their horoscope are able to turn their emotions into energy for achieving their goals, but they must learn to control their impulses.
It is said that such people can become true protectors — not only physically, but emotionally as well. They know when to act decisively and when to show gentleness and care. Their life is a constant balancing act between passion and calm, between action and contemplation.
And just as in the legend of Selene and Mars, within each of us lies the ability to transform turbulent energy into a creative force, if we learn to find harmony between our emotions and our actions.
