What Are Astrological Cards?
Astrological Cards bring together metaphorical imagery and astrological aspects. Each card explores the interaction between two planets through mythology, symbolism and visual metaphor.
How to Work with the Cards
1. Set your intention
Before drawing a card, take a moment to focus on your question or intention.
2. Draw a card intuitively
Trust your instinct and choose the card that draws your attention.
3. Explore the symbolism
Look closely at the image and consider how the qualities and energies of the two planets are expressed within it.
For example, the Mars–Saturn card depicts Hephaestus forging a sword, bringing together the drive and force of Mars with Saturn’s discipline, structure and endurance.
Interpretation
Bring your own associations together with the astrological meanings of the planets. This can help you understand what is unfolding in your life and what may deserve your attention.

- Pay attention to any feelings or physical sensations that arise.
- Ask yourself: “Where is this already showing up in my life?”
- Then read the full interpretation and compare it with your own response to the card.

How to Ask the Cards a Question
The cards are not designed to give simple yes-or-no answers or predict a fixed future. They can help reveal the dynamics of a situation, emotional patterns, inner processes and possible directions in which it may develop.
Instead of:
“Will we be together?”
try asking:
“What is happening in this connection right now?”
“What is important for me to notice?”
“How can I approach this situation?”
If You’re Choosing Between Several Options
Instead of asking “Which option is better?”, ask the same question about each possibility separately.
For example:
“How might I feel if I move to this city?”
“How might I feel in this job?”
“How might I feel in a relationship with this person?”
You can draw one card for each option and compare the different states, emotions and processes associated with each one.
Instead of:

How the Astrological Cards Came to Life
The idea for a set of metaphorical Astrological Cards came from astrologer Elizaveta Maksimchuk. She wanted to create a deck in which astrological aspects could be expressed through imagery, mythology and metaphor.
When Liza shared the idea with me, I immediately wanted to draw it.
I was working in watercolour while I was expecting my youngest child. Each card appeared in its own time, with its own character and mood.
The deck was painted entirely by hand in watercolour. Each card represents the relationship between two planets — an astrological aspect and the tension, harmony or complexity that can arise between their energies.
Each card description tells the story of how a particular aspect may be experienced and expressed in a person’s life.
This became a deck of 36 cards: 35 astrological aspects and one introductory card from the author.

All images are painted by hand in a mixed-media watercolour technique. The visual language is soft, dreamlike and deeply metaphorical, helping make intuitive and subconscious associations more accessible.
